Chief Investment Officer
Tom is the Chief Investment Officer and Co-founder of Canterbury Investment Management. Tom began developing the Portfolio Thermostat strategy in 2003 and it has become the firm’s core investment model for managing separate accounts for individuals and RIAs. He is responsible for the management of the comprehensive portfolio strategy, for research/oversight of new investment products, and for working with advisors to understand the philosophy and methodology. With over 30 years in the industry, Tom has previously served as Regional Director at EF Hutton and Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Management Director for Citigroup and Smith Barney’s Portfolio Management Group. Tom earned his certification in Portfolio Management from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and his BA in business from Skidmore College.
Chief Portfolio Strategist
Kim is the Chief Portfolio Strategist and Co-founder of Canterbury Investment Management. Her responsibilities include the oversight and coordination of all aspects of Canterbury’s investment strategy. Kim has over 16 years of experience in securities analysis, portfolio management, and compliance. She began her career at a New York stock exchange firm before joining Smith Barney’s Portfolio Management Group. She earned her BA in financial counseling and planning from Purdue University and is certified as a Chartered Market Technician and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor. Kim is a frequent guest lecturer at Purdue University’s School of Consumer Science.
